As I’m writing this, its Sunday 14th January. Can we all just take a moment to think about how fast 2018 is going already? Some might think, it’s only 13 days into the New Year. However, to me, Christmas feels so long ago. It’s as if it just popped by, said hello, then went within the click of someone’s fingers. There’s always a big festive build up to Christmas, which I do love. But once January hits, its time to get back to reality, back to work, and start reaching new goals and dreams. There’s a lot that I learnt last year. And I’d like to share with you what I’m currently thinking for January so far.
I’ve been thinking it’s okay not to have New Year’s resolutions
There’s a lot of pressure once the New Year hits, to make resolutions for the year ahead. But for me, thinking of something each year, just gets hard to think of new things. So that’s why, I like to tell myself ‘let’s take everything you learnt last year and make this year an even better one’. When it comes to it, you’re in control. Okay, we can’t control all situations. But we can control how we react to them. I say, continue to be strong, be you, and good things, expected or unexpected will come your way.
After almost three weeks of not going to the gym in December, I eventually got back into it this January!
This isn’t to say that I wasn’t doing any exercise at all. I love my walking. I know that can only be the begging of exercise but it’s something! Going to the gym should be an enjoyable experience. When I look back to this time last year, I was terrified of going there. But now I go when I have the motivation to go, or tell myself I can do it, even if it’s the last thing I feel like doing. There was a lot of rubbish eating over the Christmas period. But hey, food always win. I still keep in control of the dread I have of piling on weight. But a few pounds here and there is alright. I just remind myself to be happy and do something about it if I’m not.
I was in the audience of one of television shows again
Quite regularly, I apply for tickets to be in the audience of television shows that are filmed in MediaCityUK, Salford. There are good reasons: one, it’s convenient because the location is the city I live in, and two, they’re always fun to watch. This one was called What Would Your Kid Do? It’s hosted by Jason Manford. And can I just say, he is so lovely. It was a really good watch and I can’t wait for it to air on television (ITV) when the time comes to see all of the other shows that’ll be broadcasted.
It’s been an enjoyable start to the New Year. What have you even up to? Anything exciting? Tell me in the comments below.
