I hope you’re all having a lovely weekend. It’s Sunday already. These weekends just go quicker and quicker. I’ve been up to quite a bit this weekend and that’s what I am going to share with you all in this post. Never mind the weekends flying by, the years start to fly by too. It must be a thing that happens as you get older! So I like to make the most of my weekends. Sometimes this means doing absolutely nothing. And at other times, it means getting things done or seeing people.
This week I had an appointment at the doctors and learnt that my blood pressure is high again. So a weekend surrounded by people I love and doing happy things is just what I needed.
An evening with the best friend
After work on Friday I went home, freshened got changed, and couldn’t wait to see my best friend. I love the catch ups we have and it’s even more worth it when we haven’t seen each other for a few weeks. We decided to go to Frankie & Benny’s. Mmmmm, the food there is always a good shout. We went to one local to me at Salford Quays. What made the night better, other than it being Friday was that, the service was lovely as always and the food didn’t take long to be served.
Two meals for £9.95, we had to go for it. We both decided on a starter and a main option. For starters I had cheesy mushrooms in this lovely sauce. The portion was bigger than I expected. For mains, I ordered meatballs and penne pasta. It was delicious. There was chicken and bacon included in the meal (bonus). We both enjoyed our food. And why wouldn’t we, we love food a lot! Faye was really kind to pay as a treat. As per usual, we laughed lots and lots.
The 100k Drop at MediaCityUK
A while ago, I applied for two tickets to see Channel 4’s 100k Drop hosted by Davina McCall. Luckily, I was given the two tickets. Me and my mum went along on Saturday morning. It’s one of the longest filming sessions I’ve been part of in the audience. We were in the studio from 11.00am until 3.00pm but it was worth the experience.
I love finding new shows to be part of the audience in. It’s always interesting to see how it all happens before its edited and put onto our television screens. All of the contestants were lovely and we hope for one pair to win but they didn’t. You’ll have to wait and see for yourselves as I can’t divulge too much information on that one I’m afraid.
Mum absolutely loved going here. She’s been to one television filming before, which was 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown. I wonder what she’ll want me to take her to see in the future… Again, food was involved. Of course it was, it’s me! We had a lovely meal at Harvester. Although we both struggled to finish the full plate. Still lovely though.
The day I finally got a MacBook Pro
I never thought I’d see the day. I used to tell myself that I’d never see myself having an iPhone but that’s the best phone I’ve ever had. Today was the day where I finally purchased a MacBook Pro. As me and Danny are saving for a deposit to move out, I wanted to do something to show that I am financially reliable. Obviously, I have direct debits such as my phone, gym, internet etc. but having this will prove that I am capable.
I’m glad I put an instalment down and then agreed to pay the rest off over a monthly plan. I haven’t even had it for 24 hours yet and I’m loving it! Ah, I think Danny has covered me to an Apple lover. I’m so excited for a purple case to arrive tomorrow from Amazon, then it’ll all be complete. Now, I’m waiting for next weekend to arrive!
What’s new with you?
