5 Things You May Not Have Known About Your Heart and Heart Disease

As many of you already know, I am fundraising for the British Heart Foundation. I am doing this in order to raise more awareness about all the things that the charity aim to find more research on that affects our hearts.

We need our hearts to survive as long as it’s beating, we are living. It’s heartbreaking to hear of those who suffer from heart defects or heart related issues in their health and well-being. It’s even more devastating when we lose someone to a heart related health condition.

That’s why I wanted to do something more than I already have, this is my first 10k run that I’ve ever done and I know it’s going to be difficult. There’s a lot of training and after slacking this week, I need to find harder next week for sure. I am adamant that I am going to finish this run, whether I walk some and run some.

Knowing that I can do something to help keeps me motivated, especially when you can relate to a part of your life that was taken away from heart disease and heart attacks. I want to try and give something back for how lucky I am to be in this world and have my heart beating healthily.

Not only am I doing this run in memory of all of my grandads, one who lost his life due to coronary heart disease, and the others to heart attacks, but for everyone out who has or is experiencing serious heart conditions.

Below are five things that you may not have known about your heart and heart disease.
