Earlier in the week I was nominated by Samantha for the Blogger Recognition Award. Thank you Samantha – everybody go and check out her lovely blog. It’s the little gestures like this that have made me smile this week. It also feels really good to have your blog and writing recognised for all of the hard work that gets put into it.
The rules for the Blogger Recognition Award are:
- Thank the blogger who nominated you and provide a link to their blog
- Write a post showing the award
- Give a brief story of how your blog started
- Give two pieces of advice to new bloggers
- Select 15 other bloggers to pass the award to
- Comment on each blog with a link to the post and let them know you nominated them
How did I start my blog?
I created my blog in July 2015 with a mission to influence others positively. My first ever post was Aspirations and Happiness. From day one, blogging was a place I used to express my thoughts and really say how I’m feeling. I can be such an open person but I can always shy away from certain subjects, which is where blogging came into effect for me. It began to help me release wonder, worry, and waiting for something to happen.
I’ve always loved fundraising for many causes such as Heart Disease, Saving Babies Lives, Dementia and Alzheimer’s, Diabetes amongst others. I believe that where we can help to make a change – we should step up and make our mark to help make that change.
As I began to share my experiences with fundraising, my every day thoughts, and voluntary projects, people started to read my work, and companies were contacting me to ask me to write for them. It’s such a wonderful feeling. But what’s even more wonderful is the support from others and being to write on your own path whilst I’m travelling on the journey that life gives me.
What’s my advice to new bloggers?
My advice to all of you new bloggers out there would be, to simply be you. Part of that means to say what you want to say, get your meaning across, fill your mind with imagination and creativity. And secondly, you can have your own routine. You might not feel like blogging every day and that’s okay.
Thank you again to Samantha. I’m really glad that I was one of the bloggers you chose to be deserving of this Blogger Recognition Award.
