4 Reasons Why I’m Excited for December

excitement-for-december-1

As if we didn’t know that December was approaching us already. People have started to put their Christmas decorations up, its hot chocolate season, and the chilly nights have begun.

If you’re anything like me, you’ll have the majority of your Christmas presents purchased and wrapped (I’ve even written all of my cards out). There are three birthdays that come before Christmas in mine and Daniel’s family – my dad’s (which is tomorrow), Daniel’s cousin, and my sister’s (who is blessed in heaven). Another important birthday is Daniel’s nana’s which occurs after Christmas Day on 28th December.

Talking of birthdays, let’s begin one of the first things I’m looking forward to in December…

Welcoming Baby Brereton into the world

Daniel’s sister is due to have her baby two weeks today. Ah, none of us can contain our excitement for the day he’ll arrive. I keep thinking about where she’s going to be and when it’ll be when she goes into labour. Katie’s pregnancy has gone fast from my perspective but I’m not sure if it’s the same when you’re actually pregnant.

But now we all just want him to arrive.

Come on, auntie Tasha and uncle Danny want to meet you as well as everyone else.

The Public Vote for the UK Blog Awards

Last Friday I received an email to notify me that I have reached The Public Vote in the judging process of the UK Blog Awards. So again, I would like to thank everybody who nominated my blog to be part of this very exciting experience.

You hear about these kind of things, where people take part, many of which have won different competitions. I just thought to myself, let’s give this a go, what have I got to lose? And now, I couldn’t be more thrilled that I took the chance to become an entrant in the Lifestyle category.

This is such an incredible achievement already for me.

The Public Vote begins on 5th December so stay posted for my link which I’ll be adding to my blog. Feel free to vote if you like what you see on my blog – especially if you’ve ever felt inspired by anything I’ve written as my mission is to inspire at least one person which each post.

Being a Runner for Britain’s Got Talent

Some people might ask, you’re excited to be runner – why? That’s when I will tell you that it’s such a great opportunity.

I’ve been to quite a few shows and sat in the audience and I’ve always been fascinated by the world of television – how everything’s produced, written, filmed etc. And to be part of that whether it means I might have to make a few cups of tea is amazing in my eyes. I’m really excited. It will be for two days on an upcoming weekend in Salford, MediaCityUK.

Having studied Media for seven years and currently gaining my own experience in marketing with my job, and blogging as I love, it makes it even more of an accomplishment. I’m ready – I’m switched on and I’m going to give it all of my enthusiasm.

See you on 10th December, Thames TV!

Christmas

Did you even need to read on to guess that this would be on the list?

There are several people who I miss at Christmas and I’d love to spend any day of the year with them all over again. But rather than get too upset, I like to be thankful for the time I spend together with all of my family and celebrating with my friends – just like they would have always wanted me to.

We don’t put our Christmas tree up until Nicola’s birthday and anniversary has passed. But we still get into the Christmas spirit. There might not be as many decorations up as there used to be when we were little but my niece still keeps the excitement alive for us all.

The magic isn’t there in the same way as when you’re a child but I still enjoy waking up on Christmas morning and feeling all happy inside. Other than some of my favourite childhood Christmas’, the last few have been some of my best as I’ve had Daniel to make it more special.

What are you looking forward to this December?

  1. This post squeezed my heart so much. I have smiles and tears in December.
Smile: My mom’s birthday (20 Dec), my sister’s birthday (21 Dec), my daughter’s birthday (28 Dec). Tear: My dad passed away (20 Dec 2005).
I currently posted on my blog a story similar like yours. Your coming makes my day 🙂
