Fundraising for the Dementia Memory Walk in Manchester

In nineteen days I will be participating in the Dementia Memory Walk in Manchester in association with Alzheimer’s Society.

I registered to this event because I have seen the effects it has on both the person suffering from dementia and the family and friends of their loved one/s.

As a team, myself and seven others are taking part in order to raise awareness of dementia and just how many people it affects in the UK. And although it is only a UK event, it is important to spread its awareness worldwide too.

I would be very grateful, as would the whole team, for your kind donations.

Thank you for everyone’s support so far. Here’s my JustGiving page.

Here are five things you should show about dementia according to Alzheimer’s Society.

Dementia is caused by diseases in the brain

It is not a natural part of ageing

It’s not just about losing your memory

It’s possible to live well with dementia

There’s more to a person than the dementia

Lots of love to everybody who has donated so far. ღ

  1. I wish you luck with your walk for Dementia and think it is a very worthy cause…My mom had it before she passed away in September 2000 they had just found out she was only 67 years young so you are right it just isn’t for the old and it wasn’t caused by the age itself it was caused by an injury to her brain when she was in her 30’s or so the doctors think from piecing her medical history together. Thank you for taking time out of your busy schedule to do this most people don’t have time or won’t make time. Just wanted to say THANKS for the little things you do that makes you a great person. Hang in there.

    1. Thank you very much for stopping by and wishing me luck on this walk. It’s for people like your mum who I want to walk for as well as the memory of just one person’s life. Dementia is something which needs to be spoken about more. I understand that this fundraising event is something which is close to your heart, so thank you again for sharing that your mum had dementia.

      I hope you’re having a lovely evening 🙂
